The winery Edoardo Sderci produces natural wines in the Chianti Classico area. It is an original and innovative reality that has managed to establish itself on the scene of Tuscan producers thanks to a philosophy aimed at creating wines with a typically territorial and artisanal profile. The estate is located in the beautiful hilly area of Gaiole In Chianti, in the province of Siena. Edoardo comes from a family of winemakers, but he has managed to distance himself from and break free from the established family traditions, passed down from generation to generation, to assert his own production vision, which has led him to create genuine, straightforward, and sustainable wines, capable of bringing the true essence of the terroir into the glass.
The Podere il Palazzino is situated on wonderful hilly ridges, sunny and breezy, facing south and southeast, and extends over a total area of 20 hectares. The soils are poor and stony, with a strong presence of galestro and alberese, very suitable for enhancing the characteristics of quality viticulture and in particular the Sangiovese, the principal grape variety of the territory.territory. The estate has played a pioneering role in the Chianti area, carrying forward an experience related to the production of excellent organic wines. Edoardo Sderci, however, wanted to go further and has conducted deeper experimentation, selecting some plots of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino from the estate, cultivating them in respect of the natural balances of nature.
Following a careful and respectful work among the rows, there is an equally meticulous winemaking process aimed at enhancing the original character of the grapes, trying to intervene as little as possible within the winemaking process. The fermentations take place spontaneously, without any addition of additives and without the addition of sulfites, to preserve the natural integrity and the direct expression of the grapes. The wines faithfully reflect this approach and are proposed as an alternative to the range of the large wineries in the area, to reaffirm the uniqueness of the origin zone and the particular characteristics of the vintage.
