Silent Pool Distillers
The Silent Pool distillery was born from the passion of a group of friends and the idea of creating high-quality artisanal spirits. The chosen location for the distillery is a suggestive and charming place: Silent Pool, the “silent lake” near the town of Guildford. The legend tells of how King John Lackland saw and wanted to abduct, while riding his horse, a young and beautiful girl who was bathing in the lake, who drowned in the deep water trying to escape from the king. English folklore tells of how the spirit of the virgin returns every day at midnight to the place of her death.
The Silent Pool Distillers is located near the lake and uses its waters for the production of gin. The entire production process takes place within the distillery and is based on sustainability and respect for the environment: the distillation is powered by the combustion of local wood, using the lake's water. Each group of botanicals is introduced at a different stage of production: the maceration for 24 hours for the primary botanicals, including juniper, coriander, cardamom, and citrus peel; the gin tea infusion, which consists of a very brief maceration followed by distillation, for the botanicals with low essential oil content, such as lime leaves, chamomile, and rose; the basket steam infusion for the more delicate botanicals, positioned on the neck of the still during distillation. The still, equipped with a rectification column that ensures excellent aromatic purity, is heated with wood but not with direct flame, rather through a small boiler.
The Silent Pool Distillers has become famous worldwide for the production of Silent Pool Gin, in its different versions, but also produces vodka and liqueurs. The gin is rich, structured, fresh, and clean, with good aromatic richness, characterized by notes of juniper, lemon, lime, lavender, and chamomile. It is undoubtedly a unique spirit in its own right, original and of high quality, capable of encapsulating the charm of the lake from which
