Tamellini

With a winemaking tradition spanning over a century, brothers Gaetano and Pio Francesco Tamellini have made a name for themselves thanks to the exceptional quality of their Soave, highlighting the typicality of the territory. The two brothers decided to embark on their adventure in 1998, elevating the family’s wine heritage, a legacy passed down from generation to generation and particularly transmitted to Gaetano and Pio by their grandfather, one of the historical founders of the Soave social winery. While Gaetano manages the vineyards, Pio Francesco is responsible for the winemaking, which takes place in a charming underground cellar located beneath a vineyard, giving the impression of being an integral part of the landscape of Costeggiola, a hamlet situated between the municipalities of Soave and Cazzano di Tramigna. For oenological consulting, the Tamellini brothers rely on the expertise of Paolo Caciorgna, while the agronomic aspect is handled by the talented Federico Curtaz.

The Tamellini vineyards extend over 35 hectares and are dominated by Garganega, indigenous variety symbol of Soave, cultivated with excellent exposure to the south. The vines rest on volcanic soils rich in limestone, tuff, and pebbles and in the field, the use of synthetic products is minimized, while sustainable practices such as cover cropping and inter-row greening are adopted. In the cellar, the dictat is to preserve the aromatic delicacy of the grapes, a foundation pursued through techniques such as cooling the bunches, soft pressing under nitrogen, and processing entirely in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, with aging periods taking place on fine lees.

There are three labels produced by the Tamellini winery, all closely linked to the essence of the Soave territory. These include a Vintage Sparkling Wine, a “generic” Soave, and the Soave Classico ‘Le Bine de Costiola’, the latter being the flagship wine of the estate. All these interpretations stand out for their freshness and minerality, characteristic attributes of the wines from the area.
