Tenuta Argentiera

Tenuta Argentiera represents the meeting point between the briny atmospheres of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the sun-drenched Mediterranean countryside of Alta Maremma, where the scents of shrubs and sun-scorched lands create the ideal environment for the creation of great labels, now famous all over the world for their intensity, complexity, and powerful taste. Founded in 1999 in the heart of the Bolgheri area, the estate extends over 75 hectares of cultivated vineyards, framed by splendid centuries-old maritime pines and olive trees that centuries ago were part of the immense "Tenimento di Donoratico", an ancient feudal possession of the Florentine noble family of Serristori. The name of the estate is inspired by the old silver mines of the Livorno province that were widespread in the past, from which natural thermal springs also flowed. The uniqueness of Tenuta Argentiera is also recognized in its geographical positioning, which reaches the highest altitudes of the entire Bolgheri area, touching 200 meters above sea level, achieving a unique microclimate.

From its plateau, the Tenuta Argentiera winery dominates the underlying valley, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea from which it receives an illumination through the refraction of sunlight that is above the norm, thus making the maturation of its grapes perfect. Here, the cultivated varieties are represented by Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Petit Verdot, situated in prestigious vineyards, caressed by mild breezes and sweet sea winds that combat the spread of fungal diseases.

Tenuta Argentiera is set in a splendid building with rural architecture perfectly integrated with the surrounding landscape, but it conceals beneath it the great treasure of the company: on the lower floor of the headquarters, there is indeed a wide array of rooms dedicated to winemaking and aging, where 1200 barriques rest at a cool temperature until complete maturation, when they will finally leave the cellar to once again excite enthusiasts of great Tuscan reds, in a single swirl of the glass.
