Tenuta Belguardo - Mazzei

, but in recent decades it has been showing significant potential for producing wines with a very recognizable territorial connotation. The climate is typically Mediterranean, warm and particularly dry, with little precipitation and good temperature excursions. The proximity to the sea ensures good ventilation, with a constant regime of gentle breezes. The soils are quite heterogeneous, with the presence of alberese and sandstone rocks, medium-textured calcareous-clay soils, and sandy areas.

The advantage of being able to approach a substantially virgin territory, without historical sedimentations, has allowed the Belguardo winery to undertake a thorough zoning study of the territory with great freedom, to cultivate the grape varieties most suited to the area in the various parcels. At the end of this preliminary study, some grape varieties traditionally cultivated in Tuscany, such as Sangiovese, Vermentino, and Alicante, were chosen, along with other international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and others. Thus was born a small mosaic of vineyards, which allows for a great possibility of experimenting and choosing among many different grapes and also creating innovative wines. What remains unchanged is the underlying personality of the wines, characterized by full ripeness, aromatic richness, harmony, and balance.
