Among the biodiversity-rich hills of the Roero, on the left bank of the Tanaro River, stands the family-run Tibaldi winery, an authentic interpretation of the territory thanks to its ability to harmoniously combine tradition and innovation. The winery is located precisely within the municipality of Pocapaglia, where for generations the Tibaldi family has handed down the art of winemaking and the passion for viticulture. Today the estate is managed by young sisters Monica and Daniela Tibaldi, who have picked up the winemaking legacy passed on to them by their father Stefano and grandfather Tunin. The family personally takes care of the entire production process, from vineyard operations to final bottling, with meticulous care and strong passion.
The Tibaldi estate exclusively raises traditional Roero grape varieties, namely Nebbiolo and Barbera for the red grapes, Arneis and Favorita among the white varieties. The plants are rooted on calcareous, clay, marly or sandy soils, depending on the subzone of reference, while field work is done by hand. Manual harvests are accompanied by careful selection of the grapes, which are then vinified with precision and delicacy. For all wines, fermentations take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, containers in which the maturation process on the fine lees also takes place, except for the Roero 'Roccapalea,' which ages in lightly toasted wooden barrels.
The Tibaldi winery's production is based on the area's typical appellations, such as Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, Langhe Favorita, Roero Arneis and Roero. Spearheads of the range are undoubtedly Roero 'Roccapalea', a Nebbiolo of great personality and elegance, and Roero Arneis 'Bricco delle Passere', an Arneis cru capable of combining complexity and smoothness. Also characteristic is the production of a Roero Arneis Metodo Classico that rests a good 40 months sur lie. A hallmark of Tibaldi's labels is the sympathetic design of sisters Monica and Daniela.
