Torre Raone
Torre Raone is a farm in Loreto Aprutino, located in the Abruzzo hills surrounding the city of Pescara. It was founded in 1997 by two friends, Luciano and Antonio, respectively a farmer and an agronomist, who decided in agreement to purchase the estate and the attached 30 hectares of vineyard and 5 of olive trees. The first real innovation they introduced was the cultivation under Organic Farming of the vineyards, subsequently certified on the label. The name Torre di Raone refers to the large fortification that stands in the heart of the estate, in honor of Raone da Poliano who made its construction possible in the 11th century.
The vineyards owned by Torre di Raone are located on different plots of land, all at high altitudes, about 350 meters above sea level, surrounded by the exceptional landscape of the Central Apennines. A natural microclimate that enhances the aromatic profile of the grapes with fresh breezes that daily envelop the rows, coming from the west from the Gran Sasso National Park, from the southeast from the Maiella massif and finally from the northeast from the Adriatic Sea. It is impossible not to produce fine wines of excellent quality in such a territorial context!
Gran Sasso, from the southeast from the Maiella massif and finally from the northeast from the Adriatic Sea. It is impossible not to produce fine wines of excellent quality in such a territorial context!Since 2006, Torre di Raone has had a new winery, equipped with more innovative technological systems and modern equipment aimed at preserving the naturally intrinsic character of the grapes, coming from all the different company plots. The most suitable varieties of the territory are Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, offered not only in red but also in rosé, Pecorino and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, which Luciano and Antonio, together with their loyal collaborators, have always been committed to enhancing as the image of the area of origin. Over time, the use of small wood has been drastically reduced during winemaking in favor of steel tanks and large oak barrels, in order to enhance the elegant and delicate aromas naturally present in the grapes. A historical excellence of the terroir and an innovative presence in step with the times; what surprises will Torre Raone reserve for the
