Trerè
The Trerè winery is an important and well-established reality in the Romagna landscape. Active since 1960, it has today discovered new vitality and energy thanks especially to Morena Trerè and her son Massimiliano Fabbri, who have given a new impetus to the family business, using modern agronomic and oenological techniques. The context is that of the gentle green hills of the city of Faenza, celebrated by the poet Dino Campana with the famous opening line: “I remember an old red city with walls and towers (...) with the distant coolness of green and soft hills in the background.” In these green hills, Morena has managed to consolidate a productive reality that has made history in the area, enriching it with a beautiful agriturismo.
The vineyards of the Trerè family extend over 35 hectares on the Faentine hills, cultivated with the typical varieties of the area such as Sangiovese, Albana, Famoso, and Pagadebit. The agricultural approach favors high planting densities with pruning that limits the production of clusters per plant, especially for Albana, in order to favor the concentration of sugars and aromas. The vinifications are carried out in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with aging in steel tanks and, for the more important reds, in barriques. For over 10 years, the oenological consultancy has been entrusted to Emiliano Falsini and Attiglio Pagli, who have developed a style focused on immediacy and aromatic clarity.
The Trerè wines interpret the Romagna tradition in a modern key. The wide production is characterized by a clear, generous, territorial expressiveness and impeccable technical realization. The labels are very colorful and iconographic and often bear dialect names that evoke tradition, such as “Amarcord d’un ross.” Within this vast production, a place of honor is reserved for Sangiovese, expressed in different ways, which for Massimiliano represents the blood of the Romagnoli because it is “genuine, frank, and exuberant.” Creativity, genuineness, modernity, and immediacy are the key words that describe a successful territorial production.
