Trinchero
Trinchero is a traditional reality in the heart of Monferrato. Ezio is the true benefactor of Barbera D’Asti for aging, who has skillfully produced and marketed it, giving a new voice to the labels of Monferrato. Agliano Terme, 20 km from Asti, hosts the enterprises of this winery and offers a wonderful and poetic panorama, inspiring the four generations of the Trinchero family, who with exemplary discipline and unwavering passion cultivate and have cultivated these lands thanks to a craftsmanship rigor, meticulously tied to detail control in the production of prestigious labels. There are 13 precious hectares available and their relationship with their vigneron is so deep that it has given rise to a true and strong philosophy of life, which entails great respect and immense sensitivity towards the plant and its needs.
The reds and whites of the Trinchero winery are trained using low guyot and are mainly obtained from Barbera D’Asti, Grignolino, Nebbiolo, Arneis, Malvasia di Candia, as well as the indispensable Freisa, defined by Ezio himself as the essential bottle present on all tables of the best Barolo producers. Every practice in the vineyard is carried out manually, from pruning to the selection of shoots up to the harvest, with a very limited use of copper and sulfur. The calcareous-clay soils give great structure and elegance to these labels and the grapes, of very high quality, require truly minimal interventions in the winery. Only indigenous yeasts are used in winemaking, with no clarification or filtration. It is the experience and culture accumulated over decades of hard work that supports Ezio's work.
