Bera Valter
The productive reality of Piemonte Valter Bera is configured as a faithful interpreter of some of the major denominations of Basso Piemonte, backed by a family winemaking tradition that has lasted for generations. The estate is located on the hills just north of Neviglie, between Treiso and Neive, renowned areas included in the Barbaresco production zone. For over a century, the Bera family has been dedicated to viticulture, while the official foundation of the winery dates back to the late 1970s, when Valter Bera began vinifying for bottling and marketing under his own label. Currently, the estate is still managed by Valter, supported by his wife Alida and their children Umberto and Riccardo, who together form a family picture that passionately commits to respecting the winemaking traditions of the territory.
Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, intended for Alta Langa. The soils vary depending on the subzone, with a general presence of clay, limestone, and tuff, while the altitude ranges between 320 and 380 meters above sea level. The vinifications are always carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, the same type of winemaking vessels where some wines remain to mature, with the remaining part instead aging in large barrels or, to a lesser extent, in oak barriques. For Asti Spumante, the second fermentation takes place in autoclave according to the Charmat Method, while the sparkling process for Alta Langa is carried out according to the Classic Method, with 48 months of aging on the lees.
The Valter Bera winery is the protagonist of a selection that embraces various types of wines, from the prestigious Barbaresco and Barolo to the lively Moscato d’Asti, without neglecting the fragrant Alta Langa, the generous Barbera d’Asti, and the aromatic Brachetto. The pride of the production remains the Moscato d’Asti ‘Su Reimond’ and the prestigious crus of Barbaresco Rabajà, Basarin, and Serraboella,
