Vignai da Duline

The Vignai da Duline winery was founded in 1997, when Lorenzo Mocchiuti and Federica Magrini inherited the old vines of their relatives, particularly the wonderful Duline vineyard belonging to their grandfather Mario. We are in the heart of the Colli Orientali, in the locality of Villanova in San Giovanni al Natistone. A magical area, immersed in the wild nature of Friuli. The goal is to continue the family tradition following the philosophy that has always guided them: respect for the land and safeguarding the environment. Thus, the two young newcomers, eager to take on challenges, draw on their grandfather's words to carry on the family recipe: to let nature continue to express itself freely and without human intervention. Man must have a critical eye and understand the nature that surrounds him.

The vines of Vignai da Duline are immersed in local biodiversity. The first, the cru Ronco Pitotti in Manzano, covers about 6 hectares and is surrounded by almost 10 hectares of wild woods, creating a paradise far away from everything. The historic grape varieties of Sauvignon, Merlot, and Friulano alternate with younger local and international grapes. Among the rows, the Tocai Giallo stands out, a nearly extinct grape variety that is increasingly difficult to find. The second, the La Duline vineyard, extends for about 4 hectares where the varieties are countless.

The wines of Vignai da Duline seek high quality, but they are also expressive and typical. The territory is reflected in the bottle, and when a wine is well made, it quickly wins over the public. For about 40 years, the land has not seen herbicides, only small treatments with copper and sulfur. Thus, the soil grows healthy and clean, producing wines that amaze with their delicacy, spontaneity, and genuineness.
