Villabella
Villabella is a winery that is part of the Cristoforetti Delibori group. It was founded in 1971 by Walter Delibori and Giorgio Cristoforetti and is located in Calmasino in the province of Verona, in the heart of the Bardolino denomination area. The winery has vineyards in various areas of the Veronese territory, ranging from the morainic hills of Lake Garda to the Soave area, passing through Custoza, Lugana, and Valpolicella. Thanks to the presence of the most vocated wine-growing areas of Veneto, Tenuta Villabella is able to offer a wide range of excellent quality wines from the denominations: Bardolino, Chiaretto, Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone, Lugana, Custoza, Soave, and Garda. A mosaic of labels that includes white wines, rosés, and great reds.
The heart of the company is the estate of Villa Cordevigo in Cavaion Veronese. The vineyards extend over a magnificent hilly area surrounding a Venetian villa from the 1700s. Currently, the cultivated area is 10 hectares, with another 13 hectares soon to be added, now in conversion. The Bardolino area is of ancient morainic and alluvial origin, with soils rich in pebbles and gravel, very draining and rich in mineral elements. The climate is mitigated by the presence of Lake Garda, which allows for a slow and perfect maturation of the grapes. The Custoza area is located south of Lake Garda and has always been famous for its fruity, fresh, and long-lived whites. The Villabella vineyards dedicated to the production of Lugana, are instead located in the municipalities of Peschiera del Garda, Desenzano del Garda, and Sirmione, characterized by predominantly clayey soils.
The most important red wines of Villabella come from Valpolicella, the hilly area located north of the city of Verona. The deep valleys of this famous territory offer sunny exposures, mitigated by the breezes from Garda. The soils are of predominantly limestone nature, very suitable for the cultivation of native red grape varieties historically present in these lands: Corvina, Corvinone, Molinara, and Rondinella. In this area, the Rossi della Valpolicella, the Ripasso, and the Amarone are born. Finally, in the historic Soave area, Villabella has vineyards of Garganega with which it produces one of the most famous and long-lived whites of the peninsula.
