Tenuta Vincenzo Nardone

Tenuta Vincenzo Nardone was founded by the will of the agronomist Vincenzo, who began to plant indigenous varieties in his homeland with the vision of producing wines independently. The next generation is represented by the volcanic Nicola, his son, who took the reins of the winery in 2004 to lead it towards extremely personal horizons. Madly in love with his land and practically raised in the vineyard, he decides to attend the faculty of viticulture and oenology no less than in Bordeaux, the homeland of those aristocratic, refined, and billionaire wines against which, once back home, he will decisively strike out, shouting, "wine is made to be drunk." The constant search for experimentation is the banner that best represents him, in stark contrast to the immovable rigor of tradition.

Tenuta Vincenzo Nardone is a small reality located in Venticano, in the province of Avellino, in the heart of that territory historically devoted to viticulture that Irpinia represents: the area of the Campanian Apennines that classic authors such as Pliny the Elder, Cato, and Virgil held in high regard for the superlative white wine produced there. Nicola Nardone cultivates the typical grapes of this land: Greco, Coda di Volpe, Falanghina, and Aglianico, in a varied and superlative natural context, composed of olive groves and fruit trees, in addition to traditional grassy pastures. The vineyards are located in two distinct areas: Venticano, near the winery, in a flat area made up of cultivated fields, with altitudes around 250/300 meters; Santa Paolina, a few kilometers further west, the true capital of the Greco grape and surrounded by dense woods, with altitudes reaching 500 meters above sea level. The soils are fundamentally clayey, red, and compact, with significant limestone influences and a widespread skeleton formed by pebbles. At the estate, a philosophy as close to nature as possible is pursued, rejecting the use of synthetic chemical products and working entirely by hand.

to try to convey in the bottles the entire identity of the territory, in line with the watchword innovation. The labels created are the most varied, in terms of type and materials used: from refermented wines made from white grapes or Aglianico, to pure reds, to whites vinified in barrique. The important thing is to act in respect for the landscape and the grapes, allowing no space for chemistry or unnecessary manipulations.
