Vindimian
Azienda Agricola Vindimian is a historic winery from Trentino, producing wines with an artisanal touch, true to the character of the land since the late 19th century. For four generations, the Vindimian family has been based in Lavis, and since 2005, Rudi has been carrying on the tradition, following the best local customs. The vineyards are located north of Trento, particularly in the municipal territories of Lavis, Pressano, Sorni, and Faedo. This is a beautiful hilly area that rises towards the porphyry hills of the nearby Val di Cembra, one of the most renowned areas in Trentino for vine cultivation, thanks to particularly favorable pedoclimatic conditions.
The estate spans several plots, situated at altitudes ranging from 250 to 780 meters above sea level. The climate is sunny and mild, refreshed by winds descending from the nearby Alpine peaks and characterized by significant temperature variations between day and night. The soils are rather poor and stony, with alluvial and morainic components in the lower areas and more rocky and calcareous at higher altitudes. The estate is managed with low yields per hectare to obtain quality grapes with good aromatic concentration. At lower altitudes, red grape varieties are cultivated, particularly the native Teroldego and the Bordeaux Merlot, which has adapted very well to the area. At higher altitudes, we find the white grape varieties typical of the region: Gewürztraminer, Kerner, Manzoni Bianco, Pinot Grigio, and Müller Thurgau, a true excellence of this area.
The company's philosophy is based on respect for the environment, which translates into great attention to vineyard work, the true heart of the entire production process. Among the rows, principles inspired by organic farming and some biodynamic practices are adopted to try to obtain healthy and genuine grapes. The winemaking is conducted with spontaneous fermentations, using only indigenous yeasts and very low percentages of sulfur dioxide. The goal is to produce wines that are straightforward and authentic, capable of best expressing the character of the land and the vintage. The wines are aged in oak barrels of various sizes to respect the characteristics of the individual varieties and the different terroirs. The range of wines includes labels of great personality, distinguished by elegance, balance, and aromatic complexity.
