Wyborowa

Wyborowa is a famous Polish vodka with centuries-old traditions. Its production dates back to 1823, when it was first distilled in the city of Poznan by the Jewish entrepreneur Hartwig Kantorowicz. It was only in 1927 that it took on the name and brand we know today, inspired by an article from a newspaper of the time that described this vodka as excellent (i.e., 'wyborowa' in Polish). In the 1950s, exports of Wyborowa vodka outside Polish borders made this distillate famous and appreciated worldwide: it is worth noting that in the United Kingdom it still accounts for 60% of all imported vodka.

Wyborowa is produced with rye grain and through a characteristic and traditional process: the rye harvested from the fields flows into small local agricultural distilleries, where it is ground, cooked, fermented in steel barrels, and finally distilled for the first time in a copper still; the raw distillate is then collected and subjected to a cycle of distillation in a continuous still with three columns. From 3 kg of rye, one liter of raw distillate, capable of reaching 90%. After the second distillation, the liquid is diluted with spring water until it reaches a temperature of 40%, then filtered through natural cellulose plates and finally bottled.

The vodka produced in this way, which respects a tradition dating back at least 500 years, has been consecrated by international success and over 20 international awards won. Today, with its great quality and smoothness, Wyborowa magnificently represents the best characteristics of Polish vodka, a distillate that has become, from a popular drink of a nation, a symbol of elegance and impeccable style worldwide.
