Bordeaux Rouge Superieur 'Les Sources' Chateau Jean Faux 2016

"Les Sources" is a Bordeaux Superieur that Jean Faux makes on the right of the Garonne river starting from a classic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. A juicy red and deeply territorial, which speaks to the nose with aromas of undergrowth, light spices, cocoa and pleasantly vegetal echoes. In the mouth it is rich, material and enveloping with silky tannin and long-closing.

BORDEAUX ROUGE SUPERIEUR 'LES SOURCES' CHATEAU JEAN FAUX 2016 DESCRIPTION

The 'Les Sources' from Chateau Jean Faux is a Bordeaux Rouge Superieur that masterfully embodies the most typical characteristics of this appellation. It is produced in Sainte-Radegonde, just a few kilometres from the Saint-Emilion appellation, on the right bank of the Garonne River, where Merlot reigns supreme. An ancient Chateau, where Pascal Collotte and his family settled in 2002, forming a deep and sincere emotional bond with this land.
This Bordeaux Superieur is crafted from a typical blend of the region, where Merlot plays the leading role, accompanied by a small percentage of Cabernet Franc. The grapes are cultivated following certified organic and biodynamic agriculture principles on clayey and limestone soils with exposures to the south and southwest. In the cellar, the same non-interventionism adopted in the vineyard is followed, allowing the grapes to ferment spontaneously with only the addition of naturally occurring yeasts on the skins in temperature-controlled steel vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place in Saury barrels, 10% of which are new, where the wine will also undergo ageing for at least 12 months.
The Bordeaux Superieur 'Les Sources' from Chateau Jean Faux is characterized by a dense, full-bodied, and vegetal soul capable of convincing even the most discerning palates with its incomparable richness. In the glass, it presents itself with ruby hues, at times illuminated by garnet reflections, while on the nose, it exudes dark-toned aromas of underbrush, red berries, damp earth, Mediterranean scrub, with herbaceous undertones. The palate fills with richness and power, caressing the palate with fine and velvety tannins, leaving a long, spicy memory on the finish. A glass capable of transporting the drinker's mind to that renowned and exclusive terroir of Bordeaux.
