CABERNET SAUVIGNON 'VIGNA SAN FRANCESCO' TASCA D'ALMERITA 2018 DESCRIPTION

Tasca d'Almerita - Tenuta Regaleali's Cabernet Sauvignon 'Vigna San Francesco' is a fine Sicilian label that stands out for its generosity and character, among the first pure Cabernet Sauvignon produced in Sicily. Of the various estates owned by the Tasca d'Almerita family, Tenuta Regaleali is the historic one, located in the centre of the island in the ancient County of Sclafani and purchased back in 1830 by the Tasca brothers. The San Francesco vineyard, which was planted by Lucio Tasca in 1985, then represents the emblem of the property, which has always been directed towards innovation and the search for the highest quality.
The Cabernet Sauvignon Tenuta Regaleali - Tasca d'Almerita 'Vigna San Francesco' originates from only Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on a sandy-clayey, slightly calcareous loamy soil, between 530 and 585 metres above sea level. Manual harvesting is accompanied by careful selection of the grapes, which are then mellowed in stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation associated with approximately 20 days of contact between the must and the skins. Malolactic fermentation is carried out completely and the mass is then placed to age for 18 months in new French oak barriques made from Allier and Tronçais wood.
Tasca d'Almerita - Tenuta Regaleali Cabernet Sauvignon 'Vigna San Francesco' is bright and consistent ruby red in colour. Intense, dark aromatic bouquet described by scents of wild berries, liquorice, black pepper, tobacco, cinnamon and vanilla that combine with herbaceous varietal aromas of sage and mint. Rich, structured and elegant on the palate, with a savoury trail and soft tannins. A Sicilian Cabernet Sauvignon multi-awarded by national and international critics, approachable even in youth but endowed with incredible longevity.
