ROSATO 'ROSSO RELATIVO' BONACCORSI - VALCERASA 2019 DESCRIPTION

The Rosato 'Rosso Relativo' of Bonaccorsi-ValCerasa was born on the slopes of Etna, not far from Randazzo. Since 1763, the Bonaccorsi family has cultivated land near Piedimonte Etneo in the Val Cerasa district. From one generation to the next, the passion and tradition of the winemaking world have come down to Alice who, together with her husband Rosario, has started to modernise cultivation and cellar techniques, laying the foundations for a new idea of Bonaccorsi products. The district where the vineyards are located takes its name from the place-name valley of cherries, a fruit found in large quantities in this part of the Sicilian island.

The grapes of the Rosato 'Rosso Relativo' of Bonaccorsi- Val Cerasa are cultivated using the alberello method on soil mainly composed of volcanic sands rich in skeleton. The altitude can be as high as 900 metres above sea level and the climate is characterised by harsh winters with heavy snowfalls and long, hot summers, often affected by considerable temperature swings between day and night, a phenomenon that guarantees perfect ripening of the grapes at harvest time. The vineyard work philosophy allows respect for the natural growth and ripening phases of the raw material: the cultivation regime is, in fact, organic. The grapes are harvested by hand; in the cellar, spontaneous fermentation takes place in steel and maceration on the skins for 36 hours.

The colour of the Rosato 'Rosso Relativo' by Bonaccorsi- Val Cerasa is a warm and intense pink with deep reflections. The bouquet of aromas is reminiscent of ripe red-fleshed fruit, summer flowers and notes of sweet spices; on the palate it is juicy, enveloping and ample with an extraordinary aromatic persistence on the finish that recalls drinking cup after cup. In pairing it is recommended with shellfish and mollusc dishes, grilled fish and lightly fried food; also interesting with medium-aged mixed meats and pizza margherita. Excellent for happy get-togethers with lifelong friends or romantic dinners in front of a beautiful summer sunset, to enjoy the goodness of authentic flavours.
