The Syrah "Tellus" Falesco comes from the desire of the Cotarella family to develop this international variety in Lazio. The result is a great success judging by the profile of this red, which is enhanced to the nose thanks to balanced notes that play between freshly picked fruit and spices. A bottle whose image of the label, elaborated in 2009 on the occasion of an event held in Castel Sant'Angelo, refers to the art world, that, together with wine, has always created fruitful collaborations. Perfect to drink now, it is a wine that you can age for a few more years before uncorking.
The "Tellus" Falesco is a pure Syrah that comes from young vineyards, whose age is around 15 years-old. We are located on a soil composed mainly of sand, at a height of about 300 meters above sea level. The care put in each individual vine, characterized by a limited production, allows the production of balanced berries, both from the point of view of sugar and phenols. After a soft pressing, cold maceration is carried out for 4-5 days at a controlled temperature of 18-20 degrees. It is then continued with fermentation, in steel for 15 days, at the end of which the wine is placed in second-passage barriques for a period of 5 months. Malolactic fermentation also takes place here.
The red wine Syrah "Tellus" has a typically ruby color, with light reflections that tend towards violet. To the nose it opens with nuances dominated by small red berries, then enriched by spicy sensations, with a hint of vanilla. The mouthfeel is full-bodied, almost silky, with a finely sculpted tannic texture, closing on a citrus aftertaste. The hand of the legendary Cotarella is felt in this product from Lazio, characterized by a very interesting price to quality ratio.
