The La Distesa winery is one of the most representative and symbolic in the world of artisanal wines. It was founded in 2000 by Corrado Dottori who, after graduating in economics from the Bocconi University in Milan, decided, together with his partner Valeria, to relocate to his homeland, Cupramontana. Here he decided to revive his family's production by adopting a genuine and respectful approach to the land. Amidst olive trees, arable land and woods, he decided to raise traditional grapes from the Marche region, such as Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Verdicchio and Trebbiano. Today Corrado and Valeria are two very happy parents and still cultivate the vineyards with passion and enthusiasm. The vineyards extend between the municipalities of San Paolo di Jesi, Staffolo and Cupramontana, the latter being the land of choice for Verdicchio. Dottori's wines are far from the international standards, constructed and created for the simple pleasure of enjoyment. Instead, they are pure territorial expressions that narrate the land of the Marche region with its thousand shades and forms. A story previously documented in the film "Natural Resistance" by Jonathan Nossiter, which describes the journey of four great Italian winemakers.

In recent years, the farmhouse, or ''agriturismo'' as it is known in Italian, has also become a cultural space, organising music festivals and offering cultural activities to strengthen the bond between music, art and wine. The vines, grown according to organic principles, are rooted in clay and limestone soils rich in life, and are cultivated with a total absence of chemicals and fertilisers (only low doses of copper and sulphur). This sensitive approach in the vineyard also translates into the cellar, where the trick, somewhat paradoxically, is not to intervene in the various stages of production, leaving the processes to occur spontaneously. In this way, alcoholic fermentations are carried out by native yeasts, and invasive processes, such as clarification and filtration, are eliminated.

La Distesa wines are characterised by a rustic and decidedly expressive, artisanal character. Straightforward, pure and full-bodied, they encapsulate all the qualities and characteristics of the land. Fresh and savoury, decisive and substantial, but still true and faithful depictions of the Marche region!
