Barbaresco Ceretto 2018

Ceretto

Barbaresco by Ceretto is a full-bodied, elegant and structured red wine, made from the assembly of the Crus Asili and Treiso. Aging for 24 months in wood enhances the aromas of red pulp fruit, sweet spices, cherry jam, ethereal sensations and memories of tobacco and leather. On the palate it reveals class, structure and power, with silky tannins and a long finish.

BARBARESCO CERETTO 2018 DESCRIPTION

The Barbaresco of the historic Piedmontese brand Ceretto sums up in a bottle the unmistakable style of this extraordinary winery, which produces some of the most interesting labels on the entire Langhe panorama. Elegant and refined, it is the fruit of a profound knowledge of the terroir, of vineyards with a high vocation and of a vinification performed favouring the natural expression of the vine in its delicate and harmonious aromatic aspects. It is a label with a classic and essential face, expressing with limpid purity the character of the Barbaresco lands, for centuries home to a floral, fruity, fresh and delicate Nebbiolo.

This Barbaresco was born in the Bricco Asili winery, one of the Ceretto family's estates in the Langhe, dedicated solely to the vinification of the grapes of this appellation, collected throughout all vineyards. These are managed under a certified organic farming system and with the use of biodynamic practices, which allow sustainable viticulture in harmony with the environment. This is a wine born of the ancient customs of the territory, which historically have always favoured blending. The different and complementary characteristics of several vineyards guarantee a result of great balance and harmony every year. It is made from the grapes of plots located in the prized territory of Treiso and in the famous cru of Asili di Barbaresco. Fermentation takes place with long maceration on the skins. The wine then rests for a good 24 months in oak tonneaux and large barrels before completing its ageing period in the bottle.

Ceretto's Barbaresco is an excellent label that perfectly illustrates the authentic characteristics of elegance of great Barbaresco wines. In the glass it has a splendid ruby colour with garnet reflections. On the nose it offers elegant floral aromas of violets and dried flowers, hints of officinal and balsamic herbs, liquorice root, aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, morello cherry, delicately spicy nuances of roasting, bitter cocoa and blond tobacco. The palate is medium structured, with a subtle tannic texture, fragrant and finely faceted aromas, leading towards a very harmonious, fresh, savoury and persistent finish.
