Rosato 'Limited Edition D&G' Donnafugata 2022

Rosato "Limited Edition D&G" of the famous Donnafugata winery is a unique and elegant label that celebrates the union of two worlds that have Sicily as their common denominator and inspirational muse. It is made from a blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nocera, followed by a short ageing period in steel tanks and then in the bottle. The brilliant pink colour shines in the glass while refined notes of jasmine and red berry fruit inebriate the nose. The taste is fragrant, fine, harmonious and mineral

ROSATO 'LIMITED EDITION D&G' DONNAFUGATA 2022 DESCRIPTION

Donnafugata's "Limited Edition D&G" Rosé is a label that unites two of Italy's finest excellences: Donnafugata, one of Sicily's most famous wineries, and Dolce&Gabbana, one of the most successful Made in Italy fashion brands. This is a fresh and fragrant Rosé, characterised by delicate and elegant aromas, which highlights the best varietal characteristics of two native red grape varieties of great value: Nerello Mascalese, originally from the Etna area, and Nocera, an ancient grape cultivated mainly in the historic Mamertino area.

The "Limited Edition D&G" is a Rosato produced by one of the most important wineries in Trinacria. Donnafugata has contributed in a decisive way to the rebirth of Sicilian wine and with this new label confirms its commitment to enhancing the excellence of the region, with a prestigious collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana. The Nerello Mascalese grapes come from the Etna estate, which is located on the northern slope of the volcano, which has always been suited for the cultivation of red grapes. The Nocera, on the other hand, comes from the Contessa Entellina estate, located in the beautiful western part of Sicily. Harvesting is done manually, with selection of the best bunches in the vineyard. After cold maceration, the grapes are pressed very gently and the must is then vinified in white with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Before bottling, the wine matures for several months in steel tanks.

Donnafugata's Rosé "Limited Edition D&G" is a wine that confirms the continuous growth of the level of Sicilian rosé wines. It is particularly suitable for pairing with starters of scampi, prawns, salmon, pasta dishes or seafood guazzetti with tomato sauce. Try it with a pizza margherita. In the glass it has a beautiful soft pink colour, luminous and brilliant. The olfactory profile is fine and refined, with delicate scents of jasmine flowers, orange blossom, rose petals, citrus aromas of bergamot zest, pink grapefruit, pomegranate, raspberry, redcurrant and nuances of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean maquis. On the palate, it is elegant, with delicate, harmonious fruit, crossed by pleasant savoury sensations and a finish of clear mineral freshness.
