Chardonnay Kirschyard Weingut Mann 2019

The Chardonnay "Kirschyard" by Weingut Mann is an intense white of artisanal workmanship, produced by a historic winery in the Rhineland with a passion for Burgundy. The long ageing in wood and the spontaneous fermentation give this wine body, aroma and dynamism. To the nose peaches, the typical hint of butter and herbaceous notes on the finish are perceived, really an elegant profile. Despite the power, to the palate it is fresh and drinkable, with a great aromatic persistence. An intriguing expression made so by these contrasts, to be tasted with a few more years on the shoulders

CHARDONNAY KIRSCHYARD WEINGUT MANN 2019 DESCRIPTION

Weingut Mann 'Kirschyard' Chardonnay represents a German white wine with an enticing buttery flavor profile, the result of a sustainable production philosophy. Young winemaker Andreas Mann leads this artisanal winery located in the Rheinhessen municipality of Eckelsheim. The Mann family has been involved in viticulture since the late 17th century, and today's winery turns out to be dug underground in volcanic rock, the same rock that characterizes the area's soils from which Andreas derives wines that purely reflect his perfectionist style and the exceptional vocation of the terroir.

Weingut Mann's Chardonnay 'Kirschyard' is a 100% Chardonnay grown according to the dictates of organic and biodynamic farming on soils rich in volcanic porphyry and limestone. The grapes are harvested by hand and then gently pressed, with the resulting must placed in steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation conducted exclusively by indigenous yeasts. The ensuing aging period takes place in large oak barrels, where the mass rests for 12 months before bottling. Throughout the process, the liquid is not subjected to any clarification or filtration.

The 'Kirschyard' Chardonnay Weingut Mann has a straw-yellow hue with golden highlights. Olfactory range capable of evoking hints of citrus and yellow fruits such as peach, combined with herbaceous perceptions of tea and slight notes of butter. Intense and precise on the palate, equipped with bright freshness and appetizing savoriness, with a drinkable and persistent finish. By virtue of its inherent characteristics, Chardonnay 'Kirschyard' can marry a wide range of dishes, such as various risottos, seafood dishes and aged cheeses.
