RED WINE 'NINFA' VELENOSI 2020 DESCRIPTION

Velenosi's "Ninfa" is an extremely feminine and elegant blend of red grapes with a strong and decisive character. It is produced in Piceno, a jewel of an area, but one with great potential. We are faced with a top of the line among daily wines with excellent quality-price despite the full-bodied and intense texture. The label is eye-catching, born from a splash of wine dropped on the tablecloth during the tasting trials. The image shows a woman painted red, light, refined and with personality, just like the women of the Velenosi house.

The vineyards of Velenosi's red wine "Ninfa" are located in the towns of Offida and Castel di Lama at about 200-250 meters above sea level. Found on a clayey, limestone-tinged terroir, the grape varieties we find in this blend are Montepulciano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Both alcoholic fermentation and maceration on the skins take place in steel vats. The latter is differentiated for each variety over a period of 15 to 30 days. Aging then takes place in new large 300-liter wooden barrels for 18 to 24 months, after which the wine is allowed to rest in the bottle for 3 months.

This "Ninfa" red presents itself to the eye with a strong ruby color, characterized by purplish highlights. The aromas on the nose are persistent and deep. At first impact red fruits such as blackberries and cherries are perceived, spicy aromas derived from aging enter the field, from tobacco to black pepper, to complete the aromatic picture with balsamic hints. Firm and assertive in the mouth, with a slight soft tannin is a mature wine ready to serve. A pleasant expression that encapsulates the authentic soul of Piceno.
