Terra di Lavoro is a red that has helped write the history of wine in southern Italy. Since its first appearance in 1993, it has been received with great enthusiasm and immediate success by critics and enthusiasts alike. The astonishing sequence of excellent vintages and the ability, on the part of the Galardi winery, to fuse together the depth of Aglianico and the expressive and territorial richness of Piedirosso in an original and impeccable synthesis have consecrated this label in the elite of great Italian reds. Robert Parker immediately called it "absolutely amazing" and, later, "heroic southern Italian wine" while James Suckling simply defined it "magical."

Galardi Terra di Lavoro was born from the encounter between leading winemaker Riccardo Cotarella with the potential of the volcanic territory of Roccamonfina. The vineyards, surrounded by olive groves and chestnut forests, wind along the slopes of the volcano and have always been cultivated with an organic approach. Aglianico and Piedirosso grapes are harvested when fully ripe and, in some vintages, vinified together in a blend. Malolactic fermentation is carried out slowly in new French oak barrels, where the liquid remains to age on fine lees for at least 12 months before bottling.

The Terra di Lavoro immediately strikes for its nuanced and captivating aromas, characterized by territorial hints of ash and graphite, children of the volcanic terroir of Roccamonfina, enhanced by peppery nuances. The body immediately shows perfect balance and excellent flavor dynamics, which make this expression unique and inimitable. Structure, body, elegance and aromatic depth combine with well-calibrated wild and earthy nuances in a surprising and aristocratic taste experience. All this is Galardi Terra di Lavoro: an important wine, exciting, magical and even more so for those who decide to let it age in the cellar for years to come.
