Costa d'Amalfi Rosso Marisa Cuomo 2021

Costa d'Amalfi Rosso from the famous Marisa Cuomo winery is a fruity red wine with intense aromas. The Pedirosso and Aglianico grapes, equally used to make this blend, grow on coastal terraces at about 200 metres above sea level and after careful vinification are briefly refined in steel tanks. The colour is a luminous ruby red and the aromas released are those of red berry fruit, morello cherry, strawberry and light hints of pepper. The taste is enveloping, full, balanced and with a long aromatic persistent finish

COSTA D'AMALFI ROSSO MARISA CUOMO 2021 DESCRIPTION

Marisa Cuomo's Costa d'Amalfi Rosso is the label that best expresses the fragrant, sunny and Mediterranean character of the reds from this little paradise of rocks overlooking the blue sea. Bathed in sunlight and caressed by the wind, the vineyards are in ideal conditions to yield grapes of extraordinary quality. The wine is made from the area's two native red grape varieties. The structure and austere depth of the Aglianico marries wonderfully with the soft, rich fruit of the Piedirosso, creating a perfect harmony of taste. Because of its characteristics of smoothness and immediacy, it is a very ductile label in table pairings, particularly suited to accompany pastas with savory sauces, baked pasta or white meats.

Marisa Cuomo's Costa d'Amalfi Rosso is the expression of one of Campania's most prestigious wineries, now for many years at the top of regional production. The Piedirosso and Aglianico grapes come from some of the estate's parcels located in the municipal area of Cetara and in the hamlet of Raito di Vietri sul Mare. The vines are cultivated on steep terraces overlooking the sea, at an altitude between 100 and 250 meters, facing south. The Mediterranean climate, influenced by sea breezes, and soils composed of limestone rocks, allow the vines to ripen grapes with a particularly elegant profile. After harvesting operations are completed, the grapes are sent to fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with maceration on the skins. The wine matures for several months in steel tanks and then it's bottled.

Marisa Cuomo's Costa d'Amalfi Rosso is a young and pleasantly simple wine, suitable for those who like smooth reds that are not too structured or demanding. A choice that prefers elegance to power and aromatic concentration. In the glass it has a ruby red color with luminous reflections. The nose offers fragrant fruity aromas with scents of morello cherry, small red berries, ripe cherries, currants, delicate hints of oriental spices and a light touch of black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied, with harmonious tannins well integrated with juicy, crisp fruit, anticipating a fresh, savory finish with good flavor persistence.
