'HAR MEGIDDO' LA SENDA 2019 DESCRIPTION

"Har Megiddo" by La Senda is a complex and singular macerated white wine, elaborated through a very prolonged contact between must and skins of more than 4 months. We are in the territory of La Bierzo, in northwestern Spain, where the small winery La Senda intends to give a voice to the area, embracing a natural production spirit that adopts biodynamic farming practices excluding the use of synthetic chemicals. This choice takes on even more value in this area of very high humidity, in the range of 80-90% on average, which results in a high risk of fungal diseases. "Har Megiddo" is the Hebrew expression from which the term "Armageddon" is derived, literally meaning "mountain of Megiddo."

Senda Orange "Har Megiddo" is an equivalent blend of Malvasia and Muscat grapes, grown on 70-90 year old vines, at 550 meters above sea level, on clay-limestone soils with the presence of quartz. The bunches, harvested by hand, are placed to ferment in old oak and chestnut openings, with 130 days of maceration on the skins. The subsequent aging period takes place in French oak barrels for a period of 11 months, after which the wine is placed in bottles without any filtration or addition of sulfur.

"Har Megiddo" by the Galician winery La Senda possesses a sunny orange color with bright highlights. Broad and intense aromatic range, with hints of ripe peach and apricot blending with herbaceous sensations. The palate is full and robust, with excellent taste-olfactory correspondence and a surprisingly fresh finish. An energetic orange wine with an excellent smoothness, capable of enhancing a wide range of dishes, both fish and meat based.
